28 June 2020 by Dhaher Almheiri, CEO ADGM Registration Authority

The COVID-19 pandemic has tested global, regional and local economies and caused some unprecedented ramifications.

At ADGM, we are committed to ensuring that our community is provided with the continuous support. Working closely with our stakeholders, and in line with the UAE government’s ongoing efforts in this regard, we were able to introduce a robust set of incentives that aim to safeguard the stability of the ADGM registered entities. These include full waivers on certain fees, including commercial license renewal fees and partial waivers on incorporation fees for prospective ADGM companies.

The relationship we have built with you, members of our community, is one of trust, underpinned by our commitment to continuously support your stability and development. You have chosen Abu Dhabi as a base for your business operations and it is our duty to stand by you, always, and particularly during these testing times.

Our contribution is, of course, just a part of the efforts being taken at a national level to mitigate the effect of the pandemic. The comprehensive measures introduced by the UAE government, including the UAE Central Bank’s AED256 billion stimulus package, are indicative of the UAE’s commitment to extend its utmost support to safeguard the resilience of this nation’s prosperous economy.

These measures complement Abu Dhabi’s pre-COVID-19 plans, such as Ghadan21, a AED50 billion programme aimed at accelerating the Emirate’s economic growth and competitiveness, which are aimed at reinforcing the Emirate’s position as the business and lifestyle destination of choice in the region.

As an international financial centre located in the capital of the UAE, we will continue to assist in alleviating the pressures caused by the pandemic and support the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in maintaining its stature as a leading investment hub.

We understand that these unprecedented times have presented businesses with unique and diverse challenges, so, as we all prepare to return to normal operations – or even ‘new-normal’ operations – we encourage our community to stay connected as we are always here to support.
