SIAC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi Global Market Arbitration Centre

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Global Market Arbitration Centre (ADGMAC) to promote international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving international disputes.

Under the MoU, SIAC and ADGMAC will jointly organise conferences, seminars and workshops on international arbitration in Abu Dhabi and Singapore. ADGMAC will extend the use of its hearing facilities at preferential rates for SIAC arbitration hearings that are held in Abu Dhabi, and SIAC will assist to arrange hearing facilities in Maxwell Chambers at preferential rates for ADGM-seated arbitration hearings that are held in Singapore.

The MoU was signed on 8 April 2021 by Ms Lim Seok Hui, Chief Executive Officer of SIAC, and Ms Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar and Chief Executive of the ADGM Courts.

Ms Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar and Chief Executive of ADGM Courts, said, “Our collaboration with SIAC is a tremendous development, not only for the thriving international arbitration community here in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, but also for the wider Middle East region. We are excited to work with SIAC to accelerate the growth of international arbitration in dispute resolution.”

Ms Lim Seok Hui, CEO of SIAC, said, “We are delighted to be entering into this collaboration with ADGMAC. UAE parties are valued top foreign users of SIAC, and we look forward to working closely with ADGMAC to jointly promote international arbitration to better serve the needs of Emirati and other Middle Eastern investors, companies and businesses in their cross-border projects and investments.”
