Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, ADGM – the host of Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW), the MEASA region’s flagship financial event – has announced that Hanwha Finance, the financial services division of the Republic of Korea’s Hanwha Group, will return as a Premier Partner of Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026, marking the second consecutive year of the partnership.
The agreement was announced in Seoul during a high-level Abu Dhabi delegation to the Republic of Korea, led by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI). Taking place from 15 to 17 September, the visit brings together senior leadership and representatives from more than 88 public and private sector entities and institutions, including ADGM, to deepen economic cooperation and identify new opportunities for trade, investment, and partnership.
The partnership also comes as the UAE and the Republic of Korea expand cooperation across strategic areas of their economies. The UAE has made a USD 30 billion investment commitment across strategic sectors of the Korean economy, including nuclear energy, hydrogen, renewable energy, semiconductors, and advanced technologies. The newly established UAE-Korea Joint Business Council has also activated sectoral working groups across AI, biotechnology, digital content, energy and advanced manufacturing, while planning is underway for a dedicated industrial zone in Abu Dhabi for Korean manufacturing companies.
H.E. Rashed Al Blooshi, CEO of the Registration Authority at ADGM, said, “The economic relationship between the UAE and the Republic of Korea is entering an important new phase, underpinned by growing trade, investment, and collaboration across strategic industries. Financial institutions have a critical role to play in translating that momentum into new capital flows, partnerships, and opportunities between our markets. Hanwha Finance’s return as a Premier Partner of Abu Dhabi Finance Week reflects that shared ambition and builds on a relationship that is becoming deeper and more substantive. Signing this agreement in Seoul, as part of Abu Dhabi’s wider engagement with Korean government and business leaders, demonstrates how ADFW can serve as a bridge between two dynamic financial and investment ecosystems and create connections that extend well beyond the event itself.”
Hyek Woong Kwon, Vice Chairman and CEO of Hanwha Life under Hanwha Finance, said: “As a Korea-based financial group with an expanding global presence, Hanwha Finance is pleased to continue our partnership with Abu Dhabi Finance Week for the second consecutive year. Through our growing engagement with Abu Dhabi, we look forward to strengthening financial and investment connectivity between Korea and the Abu Dhabi and turning our partnership into meaningful business opportunities.”
The agreement coincides with the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum (ADIF) Seoul, taking place on 16 September 2026 and led by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in partnership with ADDED and ADGM. The Forum will bring together Korean investors, business leaders, and decision-makers with senior representatives from Abu Dhabi’s government, financial, and business ecosystem to showcase investment opportunities across priority sectors and support bilateral engagement, market entry, capital deployment, and business expansion. Hanwha Finance’s renewed partnership with ADFW builds on this wider engagement by creating another platform through which Korean and international financial institutions can connect with Abu Dhabi’s investment community.
Under the theme 'The Capital Community, Powered by Partnerships', ADFW 2026 will once again bring together global senior leaders from investment, finance, business, and government to examine the forces reshaping capital markets, technology, regulation and cross-border investment.
ADFW reflects Abu Dhabi’s position as a global capital deployment hub, backed by more than USD 1.8 trillion in sovereign wealth assets, a diversified economy and a world-class financial ecosystem.
