5 September 2016, Abu Dhabi: The Registration Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) launched its inaugural Business Breakfast networking series, part of the LinkADGM initiative, which brings together key business partners and stakeholders to foster a closer and more collaborative environment as an international financial centre under ADGM.
The Registration Authority, one of the three ADGM Authorities, began full operations in just a year back and opened its doors to register non-financial and financial entities in the financial free zone on the Al Maryah Island. In these 12 months, more than 100 local and international firms from a broad range of industry sectors have efficiently and successfully established their regional presence and commenced operations from ADGM as the leading business platform and jurisdiction.
The first LinkADGM Business Breakfast welcomed over 50 senior executives from the financial services, legal, accounting, consulting, compliance, risk management, real estate, energy and corporate services sectors. The networking event allows these executives to establish new industry contacts as well as develop new business relations within ADGM’s business network. It also creates a platform for the business leaders and executives to meet the CEOs and top management of ADGM and exchange insights and updates of the latest developments in the financial industry. The networking session provided the opportunity for ADGM to strengthen relations with its client firms and gain a better understanding of needs, challenges and market opportunities.
Mr Howard Leedham, Partner of Consilium World, said, "Consilium is a provider of high-end services within the security sector; our selection of basing in the Middle East was subject to informed considerations including business efficiency and reach. Consilium’s decision to be the first in our sector to establish in the ADGM was based on the environs of efficiency and opportunity. We concluded that ADGM represents an integral and strategic asset of the Nation’s capital and the UAE; this by any measure represents significant enhancement of potential and actual value to our business.”
Added Ms Karen Berardo, Stumpf Energy LP, “ADGM and its team provided Stumpf Energy with flexible and professional support, coupled with an ideal location from which to deliver our renewable energy solutions globally. Networking events such as LinkADGM also enables our team at Stumpf Energy to connect with potential customers, service providers, and a stimulating community of visionary business people and friends.”
Mr Martin Tidestrom, Business Development Director, the Registration Authority said, “We are honoured by the vote of confidence in ADGM by our member firms in establishing their businesses at ADGM. They believe in Abu Dhabi’s business opportunities and potential for the future, and they show trust in ADGM’s legal and operational platform. It is very important for us to strengthen our relations with all these firms, to improve our partnership and offering, and to ensure we meet their needs as their businesses develop. We were pleased by the strong support and turn-out by our member firms and new business relations were also formed.”
The ADGM Registration Authority will continue to encourage discussion and engage its registered members and key stakeholders locally and globally to enhance its position as the international financial centre in Abu Dhabi and beyond. LinkADGM networking events will be held on a regular basis on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s financial free zone.
