Privacy Accountability – Thematic Review Report

The ADGM Office of Data Protection has published a report on the findings of its review on the implementation of Privacy Accountability elements by a sample of ADGM financial and professional services firms (as part of its participation in the GPEN Privacy Sweep). Whilst the majority of firms have privacy programmes in place or in process and designated individuals, identified weaknesses include the accessibility of privacy policies, ongoing staff training and data breach reporting.

Council of Europe Convention 108 +

The Council of Europe’s Convention 108 is the first and currently the only legally binding international instrument which protects individuals against abuses which may accompany the collection and processing of personal data and which seeks to regulate cross border flow of personal data. The Convention was recently modernized to deal with emerging technologies and to strengthen the Convention’s effective implementation.
